Marie de Sévigné, a famous 17th century letter-writer chose to spend much of her time at her favourite country seat, the château des Rochers-Sévigné. The French-style garden and the park surrounding the château are a souvenir of her presence and the alleyways still bear the names she gave them.
The château is an ideal starting point for an enjoyable tour around the manor-houses and castles in the surrounding countryside that the marchionness loved so much.
